Satisfying C2 at a UC or CSU

uc color logo

Students attempting to satisfy C2 during the summer are advised to take Writing 2 at Summer Session, or an appropriate course at a California community college. In addition to the generally lower tuition, articulation agreements exist between California community colleges and UCSC, so courses are pre-approved for transfer and C2 satisfaction.

Although the lists below represents the "best bets" of which courses might grant the C2 general education requirement at another UC or CSU, courses do change over time, so these classes are not guaranteed to transfer. There are no articulation agreements between UCSC and other universities so it is the student's responsibility to verify that the course has been reviewed and approved for C2 satisfaction. To have the course reviewed for C2 satisfaction, check the Evaluation Data System first, then submit a Proposed Program Plan.

Remember that official transcripts from the other institution must be received by the UCSC Registrar in order to receive GE and unit credit.
