Pool Lecturer Employment Opportunity Printable VersionThe Writing Program at the University of California, Santa Cruz, invites applications for an ongoing pool of qualified temporary instructors beginning with the fall quarter of 2007, to teach extra sections of (1) required first-year writing classes; (2) college core courses for students who have not satisfied the University of California’s Entry-Level Writing Requirement (ELWR); and (3) courses with many students for whom English is a second language. Candidates accepted to our ongoing pool may be approached by other departments to teach in areas related to their demonstrated areas of expertise. The UC Santa Cruz campus is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their teaching. Please note: Applying to the ongoing Writing Program Lecturer Pool is a process separate from application to the ongoing College Writing Seminar Lecturer Pool, and requires a separate application. RANK: Lecturer SALARY: $5,525.50 - $5,805.25 per five-unit course, commensurate with qualifications and experience. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree with experience in teaching English composition at the college level; demonstrated effectiveness at working with a diverse student population; familiarity with current theory and research in composition. POSITION AVAILABLE: As openings occur, starting fall quarter 2007, contingent upon availability of funding.
